Lisa Matthews (Artistic Director)
Lisa began dancing at the age of 4 yrs old. Her training includes ballet, pointe, lyrical, tap, and theatre. She studied dance at Central Piedmont Community College in Charlotte, NC. She was a pre-professional member of the Wilmington Civic Ballet and performed at the historical Thalian Hall. She was also a professional member of the Charlotte Ballet. She has been both performer and choreographer and has most recently had an opportunity to choreograph a musical production for Campbell University. She took time off from dance for 20 years to raise her three boys! After they were grown, she returned to her second love (after her husband and boys), to start the dance program at the Fuquay Varina Community Center.
Michelle Hankins
Michelle brings 30+ years of dance, music, drama and performance training. Her training began at age 4 studying ballet, jazz, tap, pointe, lyrical, modern and a variety of ethnic dances. Her studies have included training with the Atlanta Ballet, Jacques D'Amboise, Rick McCullough, Jan Van Dyke, John Gamble, and more. She was a member of Raleigh Dance Theater housed at the Raleigh School of Ballet.
Jessica Scarboro
Jessica has enjoyed the world of dance all of her life! She studied dance in many forms, from ballet to clogging, at a private studio before dancing at WG Enloe Arts Magnet. She went on to take courses in dance theory and ballet at UNC Greensboro and NCSU. After graduation and some years of office work, she started her family and also began to teach children in preschool situations.
Cindy Keesee
Cindy started dancing at the age of six at the community center in her small town in Florida. This love of dance continued for many years, leading her to train in ballet, pointe, tap, modern and liturgical dance. She performed with the East Coast Dance Theatre in Melbourne, Florida and was a member of the Daytona Beach Civic Ballet. She is married with two children and is a middle school teacher.
